Tomorrow is show time!!
The long-running improv/sketch team of Factory Reset is getting ready to perform at South tomorrow at 6:45 p.m. in the theater. The team has been working hard all semester to bring a fun night of improv and sketch comedy to audiences.
Junior Therese Bathgate has been on the team since the beginning of her sophomore year and is looking forward to this year’s upcoming show.
“I’m really excited,” said Bathgate. “I really enjoy being on the improv team, and we have been working hard on this upcoming show, so I hope that people will enjoy it.”
The theme for the show this semester is Disney Princesses, according to sophomore Violet Weber.
“I love the theme we’re doing,” said Weber. “I’ve been on the team since my freshman year and I have a lot of fun doing it.”
The team will be performing multiple improv games, and they will also be showcasing sketch comedy talents written and performed by the team.
“We have been working hard on sketches so I hope people will enjoy them,” said Bathgate. “I think they’re funny, and I think we’ve had a lot of good ideas for them so I think people will appreciate the creativity.”
Going with the theme, the team will be going full princess, with princess names being used instead of regular names once the show starts, according to junior Lila Tran.
“Each of us have different princess names,” said Tran. “Everyone has a different royal title, like king, queen, or even baron or baroness. We’re also adding princess elements into the games so I think that people will enjoy that aspect of the improv show.”
According to Bathgate the team this semester has looked different than it has looked in the past. There are currently only 8 people on the varsity team.
“It has definitely been different, but we’re making the most of it. I hope this show encourages more people to audition because this team and what we do is truly awesome. You don’t have to be a theatre kid to be on the team,” said Bathgate. “I just hope this show welcomes new people.”
According to Bathgate, the Factory Reset team is very excited to perform their show tomorrow, and they hope that anyone reading will consider auditioning for the team. With any questions about auditions email [email protected] or see theatre teacher Jennifer Forrest-James to clarify.
