How many years have you taught at South?: I’ve been a teacher for 26 years, and I’ve been at South since most of the seniors were about 2 years old.
Plans for retirement: I plan to sleep in and go on lots of walks with my dog Bonnie. I’ll be able to volunteer more with my Honduras group too. And my husband and I plan to finish visiting all 50 states (currently at 41) and to wander the world.
Classes taught at South: Spanish 1, 2, 4, and 5
What will you miss most about teaching?: I’ll miss coaching, clubs, and our immersion trips to Spain, but mostly just being around the students and my colleagues every day.
Favorite South tradition/event: The homecoming door decoration contest was always fun, especially a few years back when my Ac Lab students created Will Ferrell tributes connected to the Hoco themes several years in a row.
