How many years have you taught at South?: I student taught here in 96′, 1 year at Maplewood-Richmond Heights (because South didn’t have a Bio opening that year), then back here at South for 29 years- so 30 years total teaching.
Plans for retirement: Walking my dogs more (might get a new puppy), and I hope to travel more.
Classes taught at South: General and Honors Biology 1, 2, and 3, Matter and Change, and Concepts of Chemistry
What will you miss most about teaching?: Interacting with my students and colleagues. I enjoy seeing students learn and discover the power of their own minds. I will miss my science family and “lunch bunch” conversations.
Favorite South tradition/event: Beta Chi Pi hall decorations for Halloween, Winter, and Spring. I hear students in the hallways talking about the science information in the displays frequently. The decorations help brighten up the hallways, but also help students learn science concepts at the same time.
