Boys’ volleyball 2015

Spring time is around the corner and that means Parkway South Boys’ volleyball is back. Last year’s squad witnessed a rebuilding season in which only a few seniors graduated. This season the Patriots will have many returning players to the team, and some newcomers that will have an impact. Returning players to this team include; Jamey Behnen, Dane Jackson, Connor Donovan, Brendan Noyes, and TJ Delaney. A newcomer to the team, junior Carter Sawyer, believes that there are leaders on the 2015 squad.

“We have many returning seniors on the team this year, but I think the leaders will be John Yucesoy, TJ Delaney, and JC Lake,” said Sawyer.

One of the more interesting part of boys’ volleyball at South is the fact the volleyball is not most of the players’ main sports. Junior Jc Lake thinks the team will have to overcome this.

“Our biggest challenge this year is overcoming the fact the volleyball isn’t most of our main sports,” said Lake.

The Patriots will face many tough opponents on this year’s schedule, very similar to last season for the team. Junior Connor Donovan can’t wait to play some big names on the schedule.

“I’m looking forward to facing SLUH, Lafayette, and Lindbergh as they will be our toughest games, but we are definitely up for the challenge,” said Donovan.

This year’s team will be one to watch with all the multi-sport athletes, and the stacked line-up of returning players. Newcomers will also be an important factor to achieve success in 2015 for the Patriots.
