The activity encouraged students to test their knowledge of Black history. “I think it’s important to learn about Black history because if we forget, we tend to repeat. So it’s very important that we don’t repeat our mistakes,” Eason said.

The Patriots beat the Warriors, 14-6, extending their undefeated record to 8-0. “Natalie’s a big part of our program. She’s one of the main reason’s we’re undefeated. We can always count on her. It’s going to be real upsetting when she graduates this year because she has left a big impact on the entire team,” said Clifton.

After the Lindbergh attacker drops the ball, senior Abby Karl scoops it up with her stick and looks for a pass up the field. The Patriots won the game 11-9 against the Lindbergh Flyers on March 27. “This season I want 100 goals, but I’m at 70 goals right now. Just a couple more to go. I play for a club and love the environment of the team, and I wanted to continue to play in high school,” Karl said.

Seniors Megan Hutchins, Maiyah Syed, Lexi Horner, and Marcie Studt share an emotional embrace after their final winter guard performance on Senior Night, March 23. Senior Night marked the end of making memories together in Guard. "I'm going to miss the community. Every single competition, it is nothing but positive vibes from everyone;. They have nothing but nice things to say. They just want you to do your best," senior Hutchins said.

Special Olympics buddies, junior Ethan Gregg and sophomore Chloe Rodriguez, and athlete Emmett celebrate after they announced Emmett’s school, during the Special Olympics torch relay. At the torch relay, the athletes had to pass the torch from one person to the next, eventually until the last athlete placed it on the cauldron to start the tournament. “[My favorite moment was] when Emmett kept going back for Dum-Dums at the swim and dive event in Victory Village. I loved seeing him enjoy all the activities, like playing games or getting prizes," Rodriguez said.

Senior guard Ava Hill sets up a trap to lead to a steal in the game against Pattonville, Feb. 17. The Patriots won the game, 71-36. It was also Senior Night, and Hill and Clara Stroot were recognized before the game. Hill said she's going to miss playing for the Patriots. “[I’m going to miss] hanging out with the team in the locker room and having a community outside of family and friends,” she said.

“My parents have lived in two different countries since I was 3. It’s weird and upsetting because my mom kind of has to do everything by herself when we are in St. Louis, and it is hard on their marriage and our family's relationship. But if anybody were to make it work it would be my parents. I also don’t get to spend much alone time with my dad, and I have to work multiple jobs here in St. Louis to help financially and be able to get my own car.”

“All-Suburban [choir] was really fun because I got to work with a lot of people from other schools that I didn't know and I got to make friends. We got to learn fun but challenging music and perform for my parents so that was really fun. But the audition process was really stressful, because over 600 people auditioned but only around 150 actually made it into the choir so that was really intimidating for me. I was one out of three girls in my class who made it so that made me feel really special and I was really grateful to have this opportunity.”
