Don’t get rid of Netflix just yet

Netflix is far superior to Disney Plus for older viewers

Dont+get+rid+of+Netflix+just+yet

Every year when Christmas comes around kids begin making their list of gifts they wanted from Santa, and this year my sister begged for a subscription to Disney Plus. I initially had zero interest in the idea, but I also wanted to see what all the hype was about. I decided I would spend time reviewing each of these streaming services based on specific criteria. Each streaming service would be created on a scale of 1-10 based on a variety of shows, quality of streaming, and overall feelings towards the service.

First I started by reviewing the streaming service I was more comfortable with, Netflix. My family has had a subscription to Netflix for a few years, so I pretty much knew what to expect. I started by reviewing the types of shows they offer. I would give Netflix a 9 out of 10 because they had a large variety of shows and categories. Netflix not only offers many shows from HBO, Fox network, Disney, etc… But they also produce their own shows. Some of these shows such as: Orange is The New Black, Roma, House of Cards, ect…have even gone on to win have awards and gain tons of recognition.

Next, I’ll move on to reviewing the quality of streaming and my overall experience. The streaming quality on Netflix was picture perfect the whole time I watched; there was zero buffering or pausing I would give it a 10 out of 10. I would say any screen I transition too while watching Netflix kept it’s 10/10 quality. My overall experience on the streaming site was a 10 out of 10. It is definitely worth the moderate cost of $8.99 each month starting. It has always been one of my favorites and it has all my favorite shows like.

Finally, it was time to review Disney Plus. I started with the show variety. I would give Disney Plus a 2 out of 10 because, as the name says, they only carry Disney shows. Now, this may be a positive for some Disney lovers but not for me. Disney owns more than half of the available networks and franchises, yet they only carry a very small amount of what they own. They have shows from ABC, National Geographic, ESPN, all kinds of stuff! Now when getting to the quality of streaming it was a very clear image and no buffering, but lots of times after I would pause whatever show I was watching and came back to my episode started completely over. I would give it a 3 out of 10. My overall opinion of Disney Plus is that it just doesn’t match up with the quality standards I look for in a streaming service I give it a 3 out of 10. It is not worth the price of the service. It does start cheaper than Netflix but it has much less to offer. It starts at $6.99 for their basic package, or add Hulu and ESPN for $12.99.

After reviewing both services if I had to pick which is my favorite it would be Netflix because overall they offer a better and more reliable service that fulfills everything I look for in a show. But that’s up to each and every viewer…
