Girls golf preview

The Parkway South Varsity Girl’s Golf team has always had a reputation for being very promising, and this year is no different.

With players like Alexandria Dannegger, who is projected to go to state along with some promising new players, Coach Adam Weiss has high hopes.

When asked what some of the big games this season would be he said Lafayette and Marquette which are both some of the top teams. However, he thinks they have a chance of beating them this year which is always a good sign. He isn’t the only person who is confident either, Senior Sophie Coon and Freshman Lauren Seidler also have their heads held high.

Coon already envisions the team having success because of their work rate.

“I think we will do pretty good because of all the hard work we put in at practice,” said Coon.

Seidler was also in agreement with her teammates statement.

“We will do well this year because we have a lot of good golfers along with a great coach,” said Seidler.

Even though winning is always fun, that’s not what it’s all about for the girls. For them, they’re excited about all the opportunities this season will bring them.

This year, Seidler and Coon are most looking forward to making the best out of the season, and enjoying being on the team.

Seidler is most excited about being on the team this year, and working together with her teammates.

“I’m most excited for meeting new friends,” said Seidler.

Coon this year is looking forward to the many tournaments the team will compete in, and seeing some new faces.

“I’m looking forward to missing school for tournaments and meeting girls from other schools,” said Coon.

Between that and all the high hopes for the season, this is going to be an awesome year for Girls’ Golf!
