With only three spots being opened up by leaving seniors on the varsity squad, the girls are hoping to have an impressive season with a large portion of last years team intact. The girls would love to have a winning season and do well in the postseason this year.

Head coach Nick Tanurchis had this to say, “All of our players have been working hard to improve their game and get ready for the season.  Our goal this season is to continue to work hard, compete hard, have fun, and improve throughout the season.”

Last years team was good, but the goal is to always improve. Sophomore Emily Xu, a returning Varsity player, feels the same.

“I am excited to work hard during practices and play my best against other teams in our district,” Xu says. “Our team goal is to just have fun, do our best every time, and never give up!”

It’s always hard to play against the other “richer” schools and their tennis teams such as Lafayette, Parkway Central, and Parkway West. However, the girls are going to do their best and put up good results against these tougher schools. In the end the most important part for the girls is just to have fun.
