With Soccer Hall of Famer and two time Hermann trophy winner Al Trost behind them, varsity soccer has a pretty good chance at Districts.

South has a well rounded starting 11 including a solid defense and an intelligent midfield and under the leadership of team captains JC Lake, Max Foley, Connor Donovan, and Justin Eads, Parkway South will be a force to be reckoned with.

When Senior, Jc Lake, was asked about who he thought would be the toughest opponents this season, he had a few opponents in mind.

“I think Melville and Eureka will be most difficult,” said Lake.

At the same time Coach Trost said that Marquette, Lafayette, and Lindbergh would be the Patriots’ toughest games so their road to State will definitely not be an easy one.

Nonetheless, the team is still confident and has high hopes for the upcoming season ahead of them. When asked how he thinks they’ll do this year, winger Brent Thayer said they “might even have a chance at District Finals!”

However, even though the thought of winning is exciting, that’s not what Parkway South sports are all about. That is shown well by senior Tino Bosnjak and Lake, when asked what they were looking forward to this season, they said “having a great senior year with my teammates.”
