With kindness and care, senior Hannah Luesse spends time with residents at Delmar Gardens South as part of the GlamourGals club on Oct. 11. Luesse painted resident Cathy’s nails and shared great conversation during the visit. When reflecting on the experience, Luesse said, “It was fun to talk to her as well as a few other residents and I look forward to seeing them at future visits!” The GlamourGals club brought smiles and connection to local nursing homes through simple acts of beauty and friendship.

Celebrating with intense emotion after charging through the defense, sophomore running back Carson Litzsinger (#34) made his mark in South's matchup against Webster Groves, Sept. 12, Friday night varsity football game. Scoring the Patriots' first touchdown of the year on a determined 3-yard run, Litzsinger shared, "It was a good run play up against Webster Groves. I was really excited and happy for the team because it was the first touchdown of the year."

“Before I became a strength coach I was a college student and went to grad school. I have always been in the gym and I first started working at a gym in Iowa. What got me started with strength training was that I was always an ambitious and very motivated athlete. Also, I was always surrounded by people who were always in the weight room like coaches, friends, and mentors. One thing that led me to become a strength coach was about how cool it was to see the amount of confidence a person can gain from lifting weights and what comes with this is putting yourself in a very uncomfortable and vulnerable spot. A quote that I always tell my students is, 'without challenge there is no change.' I mean, at one point you are going to realize that health is going to become really important to you."
