Greg Schuermeyer

Greg Schuermeyer, the business teacher, takes a look back at memories he will cherish.

“It’s difficult there are lots of great memories here, great coworkers, fun activities, but I can’t pick one this entire time has been great this is my family. Although I liked the Halloween dress-ups. Very close with several of my coworkers and I will miss the daily interactions with them dearly.”

Schuermeyer opens up about his plans after retirement and what emotions come with retiring.

“I plan to take it easier but continue to work change of career more or less. There is a total mixed bag of emotions like excitement but incredible sadness, in many ways, it’s more sad than it is happy because you grow so close to so many people so walking away from them is not an easy thing and at the same time it’s the right thing. For me the excitement about new prospects and opportunities tried to keep emotion out of my decision it can definitely be emotionally exhausting”

During Schurermeyer’s time here he has learned a lot about himself.

“I am finally graduated high school so I am finally growing up and I am still deciding what I want to do with my life, it’s the same experience as seniors leaving for their graduation, avenues of opportunities, and knowing the right thing to do is difficult something. I learned even though we get older many things about us change but also so many things stay the same, I am just a big kid inside I’ve never grown up. As young and alive today as I did when I was a teenager I have just as many hopes and dreams as a teenager so what does it mean to be old?”
