Most people think once a game loses popularity it dies out for good, but not Minecraft.

Minecraft was released in 2009 and had sold around 1 million copies, $20 each, by 2011. As the years have gone by Mojang sold even more copies of Minecraft each year while increasing the price gradually. If you tried to buy the game today, it would cost you $26.95. Personally I recommend this game to all of my friends and many also enjoyed the game and recommended it to others.

Minecraft is a game on many platforms such as mobile, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, making the game more appealing to all ages.

Although Minecraft was such a loved game at the time many monthly players moved on to different games. During the transition period of when people moved from Minecraft to other games, a game called Fortnite drew in many past Minecraft players.

Fortnite had 250 million monthly young players during the summer of 2019. When the game Fortnite started to decline, Minecraft had a huge resurgence of monthly players and copies sold, selling 26 million copies by September in the year of 2019 alone and having 112 million monthly players.

Ever since Minecraft’s sudden re-emergence on the market,  Mojang, the company that made Minecraft, has been making updates faster and faster to fuel the growth and popularity of the game. The company recently announced an update at the game’s event called Minecon where they will be updating a major part of the game upon popular demand. They will be touching up on one of the few worlds in Minecraft adding biomes, new blocks, and new mobs.
