Student Body VP Mia Muckerman

  1. Why did you decide to run for office?

I really wanted to help make changes and an impact on the South Community. I appreciate how much this school has done for me and I wanted to give back and also try and see changes that I believe would benefit everyone; Freshman to Senior.

      2. How did you feel when you found out that you won?

I was super excited. I’ve always wanted to be in a position of leadership at South and was really excited I had been elected to the opportunity to do so. Though I obviously had confidence in Imran and myself, I really couldn’t believe it.

  1. What was the best part about campaigning?

Seeing Imran have really funny ideas for Instagram posts.

      4. What are you planning to do in student government next year?

Personally, I’m really excited to promote our girls’ varsity sports next year. Though I do have a bias, I am on the swim team, sports like girls’ soccer, field hockey, basketball, wrestling, tennis, and lacrosse have proven to all be very successful with little recognition. I’m also super pumped to help out with spirit days and homecoming because my friends and I usually are large participants and we will have an advocate for our ideas.

      5. How are you going to make South a better place?

I just want to try and get more school spirit and promote people to actually want to come to school. I know especially at the end of the year or before breaks lose a lot of motivation, and I want to try and reverse that and gear up everyone associating South with fun.
