Weezer performs at last year’s LouFest. This year the event was canceled.

For eight years LouFest has come to Saint Louis for a weekend bringing cool music and a dope atmosphere, with bands like Misterwvies and Modest Mouse performing this year. This year LouFest was supposed to be from September eighth to the tenth, but due to bad managing and poor weather LouFest was canceled.

“I was really disappointed to hear that LouFest was canceled.” said Sammy Brown junior, “ I had planned my whole weekend around LouFest and hearing it was canceled put a real damper on my mood Friday”

Brown wasn’t the only one affected by the canceling of LouFest. Thousands of others were disappointed including English teacher Melissa Gebhard.

“I was really excited to go with my family and enjoy the vibe that LouFest had to offer,” she said.“I’m also disappointed for the vendors who were supposed  to work there; they must’ve lost thousands of dollars.”

With a price tag of 85$ for a day, LouFest tickets were not cheap and many loyal customers haven’t gotten their money back, and with the cancellation of LouFest there are more questions than answers for next year’s festival.

“ Honestly if LouFest does happen next year I’ll go because I went the past two years and it’s a great time each year,” said Brown.“ I hope that next year the fix the management problems so people can have a good time. “

The general conclusion of LouFest is that almost all the people that were planning on going are disappointed with the cancellation and that they hope that next year LouFest will make a return so people can pop out and have a great time.

So far LouFest is already working on correcting mistakes this year paying people back for tickets purchased but that’s not what some customers are worried about.

“I could care less about the money I would have much rather have gone to LouFest,” said Brown. “It’s not just about the music or the food it’s about the experience spent with family and friends.”
